The beach runs south-north from Mae Haad to Sai Ree village itself, a distance of about 1.5 km. The sand is fine and soft, the water warm, and shallow, especially at low tide.

This is the most built up area of the island, with several resorts having bungalows built right by the beach. Many restaurants front onto the beach as well. Despite this, the beach is rarely crowded, and longtail boats aside, fairly peaceful.

Sairee beach is probably the beach for watching stunning sunsets, facing almost due west. Join the gang chilling out at one of many bars that lay down cushions on the sand which is decorated with lanterns and palm fronds. Relaxing sounds, exotic cocktails, people-watching heaven. As a sunbathing beach with lots of facilities, no effort to get to, and one you don't have to leave until well after sunset, or dawn for the party animals, well, it takes some beating.
