Advanced courses are offered by almost every dive center and are extremely affordable. The advanced course allows each diver to gain deeper knowledge in areas of diving such as marine life or diving buoyancy and can make the scuba diving experience a lot more enjoyable. Doing the mandatory deep dive to 30 meters will expose new dive sites and expose different marine life. The night dive will surely be a thrill and reveal a completely different underwater habitat.
Whether you have had the experience of scuba diving, or whether you are continuing your dive journey, you will definitely be satisfied. The course can be done in as little as 2 days, can be as intimate or social as you want, and can include some of the most talked about dive sites on the island. For those who are planning to do a beginner course followed by an advanced course, some shops will offer a discount for the two courses. Find a dive shop that suits your needs and then take scuba diving to a whole new level.
If you are unsure about what course or dive package best suits you please feel free to contact us here at kohtao.asia. Our team includes experienced dive instructors qualified to teach up to professional level courses for both PADI and SSI. We can help you tailor make a package or even conduct a private course for you if you wish.
Languages – While all advanced courses can be taught in a variety of languages not all instructors or qualified to teach specialties and so it can at times be more difficult to find an instructor with the required language. Course reading materials and videos come in most major languages such as French, German and Scandinavian languages, for others contact kohtao.asia and we will check for you.
Advanced courses include all the basic equipment and academic materials needed to complete the course; however some advanced dives/courses require additional equipment that must be rented such as a camera for the photography course.
Course group size - varies from dive centre to dive centre, the certifying agencies (PADI/SSI etc) set a maximum group size per instructor for each course and for groups of certified divers, within these ratios dive centres will set group sizes depending on how busy they are. The advanced course is one of the most popular and so is more likely to have a bigger group; 4 – 8 is the norm when it is busy.
Private courses or longer courses can be arranged when booking for an extra fee if you feel you need additional time or more focused attention. Contact kohtao.asia to enquire.
Diving conditions in Koh Tao are perfect for beginners and experienced divers alike. Strong currents are rare; the water is warm all year round and there are some easily accessible “deeper” dive sites to explore. Marine life is abundant on all dive sites and the visibility is good most of the time.
Optional extras include a professional videographer making a short movie of your dives (they often join the group on the last day of the open water course, buying the DVD is optional) or a professional photographer. Wrist mounted dive computers and underwater cameras and torches can also be rented in most dive centres.
Combined courses – If you would like to stay longer and do more diving, courses can be combined with a discounted price for consecutive courses. Popular combinations include advanced course/enriched air nitrox or deep, wreck and nitrox specialty. contact us and tell us what you want.
