The PADI Digital Underwater Photography Workshop extended course extends the usual course from 1-day/2-dives to 2 and a half day /4 dives guaranteeing more time for the photographer to hone their skills.
On this course the subjects covered will include: Camera preparation & pre-dive tests, perfect buoyancy control and environmental awareness, diving safety and safe underwater photography, basic camera and underwater setting use, pre/post-dive camera and equipment care, exposure basics — exposure compensation, aperture, shutter speed, ISO explained, shooting with flash, ambient light and strobes, basics of composition, an introduction to advanced compact systems (macro lenses, wide-angle lenses & dual strobes), Overview of photo editing with Adobe Lightroom and an introduction to RAW files.
During the course you will be accompanied on each dive by a professional underwater photographer who will assist you with camera settings, composition, approach techniques & subject selection. After each dive you will be given feedback and tips on how to improve your images and techniques.
Upon completion you will be proficient in the preparation and use of a compact camera system; understand how to vary exposure via the cameras exposure compensation; know when to shoot with flash/strobe or to use ambient light; have knowledge of basic composition: and understand the benefits of more advanced underwater camera equipment.
