Koh Tao will in January 2009 get its first newspaper that will promote a living and sustainable island.

Slogan:
Being a Positive media for a living and sustainable Turtle Island

Target group: 80% Local people, and 20% Tourist and neighboring Islands

Objectives:
To be a communication channel for Koh Tao people, aiming to spread information and knowledge, exchange or reflect attitudes in social, environmental, educational, and cultural aspects of every Koh Tao group in order to participate in developing the Island to be a livable and sustainable Island.

Size: Compact size (Tabloid: A3), Bi-monthly (First Issue will be released in January, 2008)

Print: 3000 Copies, 12 pages

Price: 10 baht

Content’s structure

1.Island community (3 pages): Island movement, view of various people on the island including society, way of life and culture.
Columns; Koh Tao's Voice, Green talk, Koh Tao Society, Or-Bor-Tor's vision, Koh Tao History, Etc., Complained picture and Cartoon.

2.Green Island (2 pages):
promote good practices by small enterprises to be green business, responsible socially and environmentally.
Columns; Green business (Perspective), Green hand, Green Act, Around Islands.

3.Marine (2 pages):
educate and present the guidelines to use the marine natural resources wisely and sustainable.
Columns; Reef's report, Underwater voice, Tip for the sea, Marine and tourism.

4.Education (2 pages): Increase local education and awareness to promote responsible actions in the conservation of nature by the island's young generation through activities such as reading, writing and art.
Columns; Kid's news, Turtle tales, Kid's voice, Education for sustainable development, Kid's art, Thai & English corner.

5.Entertainment/tourism (1 page): Present Koh Tao progress/activities with map (mainly for tourists)
Columns; Game, Koh Tao on the move, Activities map.

6.Save Koh Tao activities (1 page): Present Save Koh Tao's goal/mission/objectives, our activities/campaign, invite people to join our activities to develop their capacity in sustainable tourism development.

7.Sponsors (4 pages): 40 blocks, 3000 baht per block, maximum of 2 blocks per advertiser. Advertisers will become Save Koh Tao members automatically. The Save Koh Tao group will then guide them or participate in how to be responsible socially and environmentally (CSRE).

Note**K.Ramluk or Nong Kwan (Ban’s) and K.Tip or Nong Kae (Thipwimarn) will be the focal persons of collecting money from the supporters. Please contact them if you are interested in supporting Save Koh Tao work.

After deducting the production cost, the income from the newspaper will go towards Save Koh Tao Projects and activities for a Living and Sustainable Island.
